I do think the core come with mic and speaker will be handy. As consider it is not very convenient to reply message through a small watch face . I do think the next best option is voice message. Wechat , whatsapp and other communication platform do support voice message. So I think this will be handy for the user

There won't be a speaker on the core, but maybe a future module may have a speaker.

There is a Microphone on the core just not the speaker.
