So the survey finally came, and as expected it was not the definitive one-time KS survey (most likely due in Q3 2016), but a Google form that will give the team our first choices and opinions.
The main points of the update are:
  • The survey (you don't say? )
  • The fact that the passive NFC module will only work in the US at launch
The things you won't find in the survey, that will be asked in the next survey, are:
  • Shipping address (will be provided in the final KS survey)
  • Replacement premium finish for the dropped metallic one (still under research)
  • Finish of the Core (probably under finalization too)
  • Additional modules selecton, got through BackerClub or referrals, or paid for
Things that were expected but won't be shown until a later date are:
  • Final design of the Extra Battery Module
  • Final design of the clasp
  • Status of IP68 certification
  • New position of the rubber clasp because of the forced position of the Extra Battery Module
  • Status of the tests on the Heart Rate Monitor, that because of BLOCKS modularity cannot be placed where standard smartwatches usually have theirs
So, as usual, post your ideas here, particularly on the survey, to make the final one perfect!

I would have liked the option to select more than 3 future modules to develop - there were at least an additional 3 that I could have/would have chosen. I would also like to see some of the other suggestions folks come up with on the survey - then I could have the opportunity to vote for them, too.

I have come up with several suggestions in the Hardware development section myself, all quite feasible (I have a decent background in this field), and I'd really like if they considered making any of those modules. I'd particularly like to see my designs for what I called the Version 2.0 of the current modules be turned into real modules!

@Alessandro - I have been following that thread, not because I have anything to add, but to see what cool things folks like you come up with...

We will have further discussions on future modules going forward but we wanted to know what was most important to backers. If we allowed backers to select as many as possible, we wouldn't be able to prioritise our resources effectively.

Perhaps a ranking of most important to least important would accomplish the same goal - there were probably at least 6 of the modules on the list that I would buy immediately, should they become available, but I could only pick 3.

In the survey? It is only for Kickstarter backers. If you are and didn't receive, head to their project page on KS and you'll se the link in the latest update. If you aren't, well, sorry, I don't think you can enter the survey. Not this one at least.

How can you tell when a drummer's at the door?
He doesn't know when to come in
