Would have been great if they could've posted it in May... Shame really cuz I was super excited until I read that

Personally, I was thrilled with the update. As many have commented already, the extra battery size and position is a bit of an issue, but not a deal breaker. As for the delay, I expected it, the Kickstarter campaigns I have joined were all delayed by some amount. It is the price you pay for trying to create something worthwhile.

The limitation to one battery module (well, that and the delay) is the only real disappointment for me here. For the battery module's size, I would actually prefer it if it were a double-sized module rather than just being a bit bigger than the standard one, to avoid having to readjust the strap every time you swap out a battery module... even better, of course, would be having battery modules the same size as the standard modules even if they have to reduce their capacity to do so. Ah well, maybe an improvement for the future.

Although I do agree it would've been better if they made the battery module 2x the regular size to maintain symmetry.

I agree on the extra battery being the size of two modules for better capacity. But I suspect flexibility in it's other function as a strap may have been compromising.

It might be wise for Blocks to run a survey here to determine what first phase modules people *might* have chosen without the change to battery module sizing, before they send out the official survey. It would be interesting to determine the proportion of backers who:
- Choose as many different modules as possible, because the want to add as much functionality as poss.
- Choose maybe 3 battery modules and one other function that they've determined they need (the way I was going)

If the team think it is better to have a bigger capacity they will make the module as they like.

I have to admit, I was naive when I saw the initial campaign, and their battery module claim. Let me clarify, I was naive in my hopes that they had found a 80mah (calculated aprox. size at the time of campaign) battery that would fit into the small form-factor of a standard sized module (granted the exact measurements of a module were unknown to me at the time). From my own work with liPo batteries I knew the general form factors, while they can be quite small there is still a limit to the current technology. When I read the update, I was brought back to reality. I would love to have the smaller battery module, but I also realize this is the best that can be done with current technology. That's not to say at a later date it couldn't be shrunk done, either officially, or via a third party developer. Reduction to let's say a 50mah battery(propperly sourced, and certified) may allow for the smaller module, but it may not be the best option.

I would love to see Blocks fix for the now non removable shells. Am I the only one that remembers their excitement when announcing their partnership with Tateossian? This photo was so exciting!
This is one of the major changes/disappointments from the latest update. I feel eliminating removable shells is a huge hit to the modular/ personalization promised by Blocks. I really hope their plans for customization have a simple fix that doesn't involve stickers. Being tied/stuck with one color does not scream modular.
