Guidelines
Your friend should use your custom page link to qualify for a free module for both of you. We don't want you to miss out on credits that you've earned, so please tell your friends to use your custom link after they back BLOCKS on Kickstarter and submit their Kickstarter email address. If they do this, then you will receive the credits without a problem.
Back to topIn short, no. We've already set up the programme so that when a referral is made, both people get a free module.
So two people trying to refer each other to get two modules each is not allowed.
To clarify, if person A refers person B, then person B cannot then claim to have referred person A.
In this scenario, we would accept person A's submission, but not person B's (and they would receive 1 free module each).
Any reward that includes at least one BLOCKS smartwatch is eligible. This also includes the $195 Basic reward (core + strap). To be clear, this does not include lower priced rewards that don't include a smartwatch, such as a donation. Your friends must purchase a BLOCKS smartwatch for you to get module credits.
Back to top We email your custom page link to the email address you provided on sign up for safekeeping. You will always be able to find it there.
Back to top Once the campaign has finished, the totals will be calculated and emailed to you. Unfortunately you won't be able to see your running total on demand while the campaign is still in progress.
Back to top Yep. No limit. If you encourage a large number of people to buy, then you've earned it. It makes a lot of sense for us too as we're selling more smartwatches. It's a nice win-win situation. We get more customers and you can get a nice collection of modules.
Back to top Basically, any form of cheating and fraud. The offer is a simple one. If a new friend successfully buys a smartwatch, then you get the credit.
Anything outside of that is almost certainly grounds for having your free modules invalidated. The obvious one is falsifying orders by making pledges
and then cancelling them. We will check for this and invalidate the free module credits if we detect abuse (genuine cancellations are fine - don't worry). Here's a few more examples:
- using fake or stolen credit card details
- forming syndicates
- unauthorised use of peoples' computers
- spoofing orders
- self referrals
- reciprocal referrals
If you display fraudulent behaviour, your account will be investigated. We may ask you for the details of your friends who have bought a smartwatch. We'll make sure that they are on our list of confirmed
backers.
We retain the right to invalidate free module credits if we suspect cheating or fraud. We want this to be a nice arrangement where everyone
comes out better off. Please do not try to abuse it.
You will be sent an email after the campaign with your total and instructions on how to claim your credits.
Back to top Yes, but you will have full three years from the date the credits are issued. This means if you don't want to use them straight away, you can wait for more modules to come out. You'll be able to build up a great collection over the three years.
Back to top As long as your friend uses your custom page link after the purchase and submits their correct Kickstarter registered email address, we will be able to match you up. We cannot accept anything else as proof. It must be logged via your own custom page link.
Back to top It's good to think outside the box! So long as no laws are broken, people aren't being misled and money successfully comes out of their bank accounts in exchange for a smartwatch, then you're all clear. A good plan might involve an attempt at viral marketing, leveraging connections exclusive to yourself or maybe some kind of niche paid marketing channel. We encourage getting creative. But anything involving fraud, fake orders or misinformation isn't cool.
