Week 1: Production timeline
Get an overview of every single step that our engineering team has to make to deliver BLOCKS to your door.
Date: Sat 5th March

Meeting Host: Serge (Founder)

As you know we had our first Live Q&A on Google hangout, here are some of the questions and details discussed during the Q&A session with Serge. Please note these are only details that I remember and listed in my own words as a summary and not what was said word to word in the Q&A. If I miss out something and you were on the meeting feel free to add the information.

Before I go ahead and release the meeting notes I would like to encourage everyone to attend either of 2 timing scheduled week 2 Live Q&A session.
Firstly we went over the whole production schedule in detail and it was presented to us by Serge. It was too detailed to explain it over here. May be someone from the Blocks team can release a overview version of it on here.

Question: How does the new Battery Module affect the ergonomics?

Answer: First of all Serge wanted to let us all know that was really tough decision for them to make when it came to the battery module not being the same size as the other modules. He explained that there are no standard manufacturers of batteries who fit the size and curve of their standard module. which is why they had to settle for the larger sized battery module.

Follow up Question: So what happens to the clasp if the battery module sits at the bottom of the wrists?

Answer: There is no change in terms of clasp, the clasp is just like a regular module which can go anywhere on the wrist, so if you're wearing a battery module it will off center which might feel a bit off but in terms of looks there will no difference since a clasp looks just like any other module.

Question: Will there be further details about software and OS in the coming updates and Live Q&A.

Answers: Certainly we are trying to release as much as information as we can without putting our IP in danger. There is a lot more detail we have but unfortunately we can not release them and put our IP in danger. The team working on the OS Cronologics will be part of the Q&A sessions. They will be on for the Week 5 Q&A and I will also try and get them to be on the Week 3 Q&A.

Question: Can we get a Meet the team video.
Answers: Certainly !

There were a few more questions asked which I don't seem to remember for now, If I do end up remembering them I'll update here. Also I just attended one of the 2 scheduled times so if someone else was on the other meeting please update questions raised in that Q&A.

Just before we were about to wrap I asked an update on IP68 and since the engineering lead Omer will be on the Q&A next week it would be better to raise that question to him.

Thanks Neil! I was literally lost in Milan on Saturday, so I couldn't follow the first Q&A. The one thing that annoys me is the off-center clasp, but that is something I already knew before, which is why I'm more and more sure I won't wear the EBM in my EDC setup for BLOCKS. I should really try to make a DIY custom clasp... Well, one other thing in my "things to do after the release of the SDK" list.

Thanks for posting. Well apperantly I'm not the only one who missed it :p

When you ran into a problem, don't give up.
Most of the time a nice workaround will help you further.

I have some good news for you friend, I've asked Serge about making the Battery Module 2x the size of the standard rather than making it 1.5 sized. and modifying it in way that if you're using the battery module it acts as a clasp so basically the battery module is a modified clasp. so there are 2 scenarios 1. no battery module and standard clasp is used 2. Batter module is used and you don't need a clasp as the battery module will act as a clasp.

Serge has promised that he will look into this possibility and discuss it with Omer in their next meeting.

That is some sweet news, Neil. I can make this Saturday's Q&A thanks to a change in schedule for work. I will see to writing down details and such during the talks. This will be a good meeting this week as there will be more talks about the design.

You are saying "this saturday" but if I'm right the next Q&A is in two weeks : Sat 19th March as seen on the Q&A form https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1ZL9673E...8/viewform

No, I read the dates wrong friend. I could make the Q&A if I am lucky enough anyhow.
