So, we're still a few months from the release of BLOCKS, but I'm sure some of you might have already started wondering: what about the next Core? With different possible shapes and display technologies, the choice is quite large, so if I forgot anything, tell me and I'll add it to the poll!
You're free to vote for all the options you want, but the poll would be more accurate if you were to select one option for the shape, and one for the display technology.

I think the e-link display would be really useful when you just want to have a display but don't use it that much, it would save battery.
Other than that AMOLED is great and round display seems the better choice.

I do remember when the connectors looked like stereo jacks

Agreed, as round AMOLED is the one that will be available in september, e-ink seems the perfect follow-up. I'd go around with the AMOLED on and the e-ink in the travel case, together with a couple of extra batteries. But I admit that I'm considering the possibilities that a curved (in the direction of the wrist curvature) display might offer the best touch size to dimension of the Core ratio, particularly for outdoor activities and such.

I like the AMOLED. As for shape, I am liking the curve of the Microsoft Band 2 atm. Even though for the moment, I would choose round as well.

If the resolution is good enough qualcomm mirasol might be best tech for future display

Also pocket watch version of core that connects to bracelet of sensors via wireless expansion module might be cool

I personally don't like curved displays, I find them too thin and too long.
I do hope the e-link will be next on the list.

Mirasol? Yeah that's indeed a very promising tech. I like my devices to have a high color fidelity (which is why I got both a desktop monitor and a notebook with IPS displays), so I just can't stand what e-ink and e-paper displays provide. I hope Qualcomm will perfect their tech in the near future, they've already reached a staggering 40fps framerate, now if they were to focus on colors too they would have the potential to make the perfect screen for wearables.

Can you add a rectangular shape, I would like a rectangular (colour) e-ink to be an activity tracker

BTW in the title you should change "How" to "What"

Yeah by square I meant pretty much any shape with square angles. My bad. I'll make that option easier to understand.

I want the next one to be e-ink, so when I know I'm just gonna be using it for time, I can save battery by putting the e-ink core in.
