I do see the e-ink (or e-paper, or Mirasol) as the perfect display for the second (to be released) Core anyway, as it would appeal that large number of users that consider Pebble the golden standard in terms of battery duration.
I expect BLOCKS to be a great product that really pushes the boundary of what a Smartwatch can be, which is why I'm still excited to be receiving mine ASAP! I'm a bit disappointed with the e-ink core being pulled from the initial release because I don't want to have to worry about battery life quite as much. Hopefully that will be coming up soon in the development because I would definitely swap that in for my core.
